I’ve missed one or two Medieval Fairs in the last dozen years. I remember a few years ago I went and was completely uninspired to photograph anything. Sometimes the commercialism of it just seems too cheapening. Since then, I’ve tried to concentrate on the entertainment, games, and demonstrations. It helps to bring Lia out with me as a second set of eyes.

There are some constants. Tribal Circus acrobatics. Tullamore playing Celtic music. Birds of Prey and elephant and camel rides. Blacksmiths and henna artists. Turkey legs, root beer, fudge and nuts. These are a few of our favorite things.
