I had originally planned to go to a classic car museum in Houston, but it seemed to have been replaced by a vacant building. The Houston Zoo seemed like a good alternative. I actually spent a lot of time trying to capture the animals with very little to show for it. I had heard that Zoos were a good way to test your skills. Now I believe it. Fast moving unpredictable animals in one enclosure followed by a lump of fur in the back corner of another. I also kept forgetting to adjust my ISO for different lighting conditions and wound up on 1600 in bright sunlight and then 100 in shadow. My last complaint is that my Tamron 70-300 is just not a very sharp lens. I think that I ‘ll have to find a replacement for it soon.
