I was coming back from Pharr, TX and took a detour through Corpus Christi. After visiting the museums, I asked the Visitor Information Center what they would suggest that I do. Although normally I don’t listen when people tell me where to go, I found myself driving south to Padre Island. I drove north across Padre and took the two minute ferry at Port Aransas to Harbor Island and continued on to Portland and turned back south the Corpus Christi again. This is what the bureau called the scenic route.
