I never had this happen with MySiteSpace (which shows how little they cared) but I’ve poked around on my site for too long and gotten myself locked out again. I can see the heuristics working. The same IP address keeps accessing the same things over and over and over again. I’m just making little changes but it looks suspicious. So, just to be on the safe side, GreenGeeks blocks that suspicious IP. I then have to start a chat session with them and get myself unblocked. In order to do that, GreenGeeks needs to know my IP address. Since I am a Cox-at-home user, I have a dynamic IP. In order to find it, they suggest that I go to whatismyip.com. But that one’s so boring. I used to go to ipcow.com but it’s no longer working. So here’s a themed list of working sites.
ipchicken
ipgoat
iphorse
iprooster
ippig
ippup
ipquail
ipkitten
ipbunny (boring)
ipcalf
ipgator
ipspider (geo-locating, too)
ipmonkey
ipcamel
ipdragon (screen rez; nice)
ippanda
ipparrot
ipweasel
ipbeaver
ipgopher
ipghost
ipzebra
ipfish works but it just goes to ipchicken (go figure)
Any others that I can add?
Oh, that sounds frustrating. For a while, I had a little app on my desktop that told me what my IP address was; I got rid of it since I never needed to know.
And, like yours, my IP address changes every time my modem restarts.
