Dinosaur Museum in Tucumcari, NM
I find that if it’s possible to break up a trip into three or four hour legs with a break in between to stretch the legs, I don’t need as much time recovering in the evening or the next day. I had determined to break up the trip out to ABQ into a two day trip by leaving for Amarillo on the evening of our last work day and staying there overnight. This had the consequence of passing through Tucumcari at noon rather than six. I’d seen the Dinosaur Museum sign forever but couldn’t or wouldn’t stop. I’m glad we finally did stop. It isn’t the Smithsonian but it’s well maintained and we spent a good hour plus exploring it. It’s more than just a dinosaur claw by the side of the road.
